The classroom was filled with the buzzing mixture of rumors, jokes, insults, and smalltalk- a typical beginning for a high school class. A few faces turned towards a lone girl sitting in the very back, long, straight dark hair lying blandly on her shoulders, her eyes focused on the paper in front of her, and the image coming alive across it as she continued to draw, only occasionally looking up. Alyce had lived in Shibuya several years ago, but had moved. She wasn't forgotten, however, and neither was her mother. Now she was back, and as a new student.
"Yeah...yeah that's her..." A voice said.
"I heard her mother is insane, like some kind of religious psycho."
"Weird thing happened around her. She's like..Carrie or something..."
"Maybe she really is a demon. Or at least some kind of freak."
"Hey Carrie! Does your mom speak in tongues?" A jock asked, his buddies laughing.
The girl ignored them all, and continued to sketch various images in her notebook. Pictures of fire, demonic creatures, all very well detailed, though also rather disturbing.

A certain teenager lumbered into the classroom, blissfully unaware of the commotion around him. His headphones were blaring hard-core rock into his skull, drowning out the voices around – and within – him. Burying himself in music proved to be a useful tactic lately – he could ignore the stupidity of his classmates while tuning out Aros at the same time. All in all, it was a successful plan.
He wandered over to his seat, glancing at some of the more rebellious teen who had decided to take a permanent marker to it. “Excuse me,” he said with an airy tone to his voice, “I think that’s my seat. Mind moving?”
The all but one of the teens visibly paled, scurrying away and taking their respectable places. Sora raised an eyebrow at the one who hadn’t – obviously a new guy. His face was twisted into a horrible smirk, and he continued to toy with the marker in his hands.
“I said move,” Sora said in a darker tone, eyes narrowing dangerously.
“Or you’ll what?” the opposing teen shot back, causing writing curses all over Sora’s desk. The brunette sighed, pinching his brow. It always came to this, didn’t it?
“This.”
Anyone who hadn’t been paying attention was immediately aware of the fact a boy had just been hurled across the room. They turned to face the culprit, who was casually slumped over in his chair, feet propped up on top of his desk.

Alyce finally broke out of her entranced state as a boy flew across the room. Startled, she looked over curiously at the culprit, surprised at how casual he was. He must have been really strong. She noted to herself that she probably should avoid that type of person, lest she freak out into a state of panic again and lose consciousness.
"Great, now we got two freaks," a blonde girl said, looking from Sora to Alyce and back. "This should get interesting."

Sora glanced over at the blonde girl, pulling his headphones out of his ears. Great. My first day here and I already have my stupid reputation of being some psychopath. The boy smirked, brushing his chocolate brown hair out of his eyes. He actually didn’t mind it that much – it made it easier to deal with the lowlifes.
“I’m sorry,” Sora said sarcastically to the blonde, putting a hand to his ear. “Could you repeat that? I couldn’t hear you over you’re bitchiness.”

"Wanna say that again?" A large guy asked as he rose to his feet. "That happens to be my girl you're talking about."
Before he could make a move, a man in his fifties made his way into the room, setting a leather briefcase on the desk. "OK, settle down class," he said. His desk was extremely organized, everything positioned in some kind of order, whether it was by size or alphabetically. He was a small, balding man with thin wire glasses. Frowning, he turned his back to them, moving the erasers for the board to where he had set him. Mr. Nerwick was well known for being obsessive compulsive, and students frequently misplaces his things just to irk him. Turning again, he then said. "Let's welcome our newest student. Alyce, why don't you come up and tell us about yourself."
Letting out a heavy sigh, the brunette closed her notebook and rose to her feet, walking cautiously to the front of the room. She could hear the other whispering about her, and her mother. "Well, um..."
Suddenly the large guy from before pretended to be in a straight jacket, writhing in his desk and yelling about demons.
"That's enough, Mr. Sanders," Mr. Nerwick said, frowning. "Go on Alyce."
The girl froze as the words continued to bombard her, the laughter seeming to grow louder. Closing her eyes and clenching her fists, she suddenly said, "Stop it!" And with that all the desks jumped up briefly, pounding loudly against the tile floor, all in sync. The girl blinked, then continued. "Maybe you should just look me up on Myspace," she said, before returning to her seat calmly.

Sora raised an eyebrow, unable to simply pass off what had just happened as just a coincidence. The warrior of chaos had seen and fought a lot of things – he’d fought down entire gangs, seen a mere human breath fire out of his mouth, and freakish monsters on a daily basis. And yet he’d never seen anything like this.
Keep an eye on her, fuck-up.
Thanks, I really needed the psychopath to tell me what to do, Sora snapped back at Aros, casually scratching the bandages that wrapped around his entire right arm. They itched like hell, and he wanted nothing more to do then rip them off and gag that big guy with them. He sighed, placing his head on his desk and casually doodling on his “notes.”
He glanced over at the guy who had started rambling on about demons, and evil smirk forming on his lip. Aros, do me a favor, will ya? The boy nodded slightly in the boys direction as the spirit of chaos appeared next to him, clad in his massive black trench coat. Creep him out, will ya?
Love to, the spirit snapped back, drifting unseen through the crowd and leaning next to the boy. Hey buddy, fuck-up over there says he doesn’t like you, he whispered, making his voice audible only to the boy. You should play nicer.

"What the hell?" The guy suddenly blurted out. "Who said that?"
"Who said what, dude?" One of his buddies asked, as the confused teen looked around.
"Uh...nothing. Probably just fell asleep or somethin'."
Alyce narrowed her eyes at this, then blinked as she could of sworn she had seen something. She felt an odd presence nearby, something dark, but she couldn't explain it. Perhaps it was nothing.
"Well, if we're done with the outbursts, I think I am going to begin to teach you something now," Mr. Nerwick said. "Take out your textbooks and turn to page 371."

Sora groaned, pulling out his book and using it as a pillow. What was the point in reading? Aros would just tell him the answers before he even got a chance to read – the guy was a pain in the ass, but totally worth it. He glanced at the shadow that had fallen across his eyes, the foreboding figure of his spirit standing before him.
Good job, Sora told his spirit, slapping his incorporeal hand. With you around, things might just be a little more interesting at this place after all. Aros smirked beneath his hood, disappearing in a display of sparkling light visible to only the boy.
Sora glanced up at the teacher, unable to hold back a wide yawn. He was grateful that the old geezer had forgotten about him and not made him introduce himself. He was way too tired to stand up in front of a crowd and talk – fighting digimon all night would do that to a guy.

Alyce flipped through the book before finding the mentioned page number. It was a few pages of early world history, with critical thinking questions at the end, the kind whose answers were graded based on the explanation, rather then answer its self, which was hold the teacher's book would say. The girl silently began to read, but it wasn't long until she grew bored, her mind wandering and her eyes leaving the pages.
Alyce's hazel eyes shifted around, before finally settling on the clock set at the front of the room, high on the wall above the chalkboard. Eventually the teacher saw the glazed look in her eyes, coming over to her. "Miss Morgood? Ms. Morgood."
The girl didn't respond, so he spoke louder. "Ms. Morgood!" This time his voice startled the girl, making her jump a bit as the glass on the clock's face cracked and broke.
"Sorry," she said, going back to her studied.
The man blinked as he looked at the clock, perplexed. He went to clean the mess rather than reprimand the girl.

Okay, fuck this shit, Aros said loudly, appearing once again and poking his warrior in the back of the head. did you not just see that? Screw history, man. We gotta go check this out! Come on!
No, Sora hissed back, hurling his textbook at the apparition, which simply flew through it and hit the wall with a mighty crash. Sora blinked, realizing what he’d just done. “Crap…so much for not drawling attention to myself.”

"Mr. Arrows, is there a problem?" The teacher asked sternly, picking up the book. "I suggest that none of you cause any more distractions, or else you'll be sent to Ms. Gertrude."
A loud groan escaped the the mouths of the students, before they fell silent again.
Meanwhile, Alyce thought to herself about the strange happenings, what with the desks, then the clock? Was it possible that she had some sort of ability. It sounded crazy, but was it too early to dismiss the possibility? Once she finished her work, she raised her hand.
"Yes, Miss Morgood?" Mr. Nerwick said.
"I'm finished with my assignment. Can I go to the library?"
"Very well. I'll write you a pass." He then wrote down a note, excusing the girl from the class.

Sora watched the girl leave the class, Aros continuing to poke the boy on the back of the head. Eventually growing bored, the spirit melted into the boys body and decided to take matters into his own hands. By that, he meant temporarily possessing his charge. “Mr. Neriwck?” he said aloud, raising his hand. “I already know all of this. Mind if I go and do a little research for an English paper in the library?”

"I suppose that will be alright," the teacher said, writing another note and handing it to him.

Meanwhile, Alyce sat herself in front of a computer and logged on, quickly going online and looking up telekineses. She looked at some of the results, but never found anything that really proved its existence, or nonexistence. She sighed, logging off and heading towards a table, grabbing an old encyclopedia and looking through it.
"I'm probably just being silly," she said to herself, before looking down at her pencil. She stared at it for several moment, before her heart jumped as she saw it move. But she quickly realized that someone had bumped into the table.

“Oh, my bad,” Sora said, nodding his head at the girl and continuing to look through the books that…well, basically made up the library. He wasn’t sure what he should be looking for – stuff that actually had to do with school, or research more into the black flames that had been appearing more often lately.
“Ancient texts…” Sora muttered, scanning the bookshelf. “Fire, fire, fire….What the hell am I supposed to be looking for here, Aros?”
Don’t look at me. Why don’t you just grab some computer book and let me translate it?”
Sora nodded, heaving the heaviest book he’d ever seen in his life off the shelf. Staggering over to the table, he slammed it down and opened the dust covered volume, eyes almost bugging out at how much text there was.
