Sora simply smiled back at Dameon, knowing full well this was going to come back and bite him in the ass one day. Oh well, that’d never stopped him before, and it wouldn’t now. “Thanks,” the boy said, taking an over-exaggerated bow. “I tried.”
“Now, what exactly do you need these for anyhow?”

Dameon rolled his eyes, going back to making a burger.. this time starting with what he knew. He would make a burger with ground beef, and incorporate some spicy flavors into it.. and making sure not to get pickles mixed up with green peppers.. reverse that, green peppers with pickles.
The Burgermon smiled at seeing the other boy's persistance and desire, then looked up at Sora. "Well we needed help on making a very delicious, yet new and unique burger. Yours hit the jackpot there.. well, unless your friend somehow triumphs you during his second try." He explained, smiling.

“Well, if you don’t mind, could I just screw around a bit?” Sora asked, cocking his head towards the fridge. “I’ve been in the mood for some teriyaki , and I figured I’d make some for the hell of it. Shouldn’t too long.”

Dameon continued to work away, getting the burgers ready and actually mixing in some spices and even a bit of onion into the patties. He then got the stuff for the sauce ready, the same as last time except no pickles.. green peppers. The Burgermon meanwhile simply nodded, smiling up at Sora. "Sure, perhaps it could be for dinner." He suggested. Everyone was sort of hungry watching him.

“Sweet!” Sora said, rushing over to the cabinets pulling our an assortment of bottles and packages, dumping them on the table before opening the fridge up. He chucked some more garlic, ginger, chives, and the biggest piece of salmon he’d ever seen in his life over his shoulder.
“Okay, stand back and watch a pro at work,” Sora said, cracking his knuckles and pulling out an enormous pot. Then, with such skill it could only be due to his freakish reflexes, he started tossing bottles in midair, watching there contents flow out in midair and seemingly measuring them with his eye.
Sora had this thing – never measure ingredients. Took too much time. Instead, he winged everything he did. And so far, it was going pretty well. He’d managed to dump the perfect amounts of soy sauce, oyster sauce, apple cider, and just a few drops of white wine.
From there, he tore open packages and carefully poured in brown sugar, corn starch, granulated sugar, and a cube of crystallized ginger for a little sweetness. “Looking good so far,” he muttered, pouring in some of his leftover sauce into the concoction.
He placed the pot over the stove, igniting one of the burners and nodding his head. He then lifted the enormous slab of fish over to a cutting board, whipping out a butcher’s knife.
“This’ll get messy,” he said, brining down the knife at an angle and slicing the fish into decent sized slabs – thin enough so that the fish’s flavor would still come through, but thick enough so that it wouldn’t afall apart as soon as someone poked it with a fork.

Dameon quickly went to finishing his own masterpiece.. which actually took a bit more time, but very little if no mistakes at all in preperation. He grinned as he cooked the burgers well-done and got them off the heat and onto some more toasted buns he tended to earlier, then went to finishing his sauce once more in the food processer.. after cleaning it out of course. He then went to prepping and finishing up his spicy burgers..

Sora pulled out yet another pan, this time melting some butter in it and tossing in a few sprigs of dill. He oh-so-carefully dumped the slabs of fish in it, satisfied to hear it sizzle on contact with the heated metal.
Not wasting a second the boy pouring some of the teriyaki over the fish, just enough to keep it moist. He sat there for a while and sighed, flipping the fish occasionally. “I hate waiting,” he mumbled, tapping his foot on the ground impatiently.
Finally, he slid the salmon off the pan and onto a large plate, slicing one open to make sure it was cooked all the way through. Satisfied with the pink color inside, he drizzled sauce over the meat and dumped the rest in a nearby bowel if anyone wanted to use it.
“Eat up.”

The Burgermon quickly rushed over, taking some of what Sora made but making sure there was enough for each other to have a good serving, Dameon included. He also finished his own burgers, this time actually tasting good! It was true, he tasted it himself. He then offered one to the younger boy, smirking a bit. "Go ahead and try now, its pretty good." He said, feeling proud of himself. He knew that Sora was probably the most likely canidate for getting his burger to help with this little 'contest', 'competition' or whatever it was, but he was glad that he tried and did pretty well.

Sora took an enormous bite, letting the strong flavors of spice and seafood permeate his tongue. “Pretty good,” hen said, taking another bite and grinning. “Could have used a little bit of garlic and maybe a drop or two of honey, but still pretty damn good.”

Dameon grinned, seeing as he finally had a fan of his burger. Maybe now he had a chance against Sora in the whole 'competition' they had just fought over. Well it was up to the Burgermon, and he then served his own burgers with Sora's teriyaki. Unsurprisingly, they liked both.. there was a clear winner in mind though, despite this nice change after the first mistake Dameon made.

Sora patted Dameon on the back and gave him a thumbs up, devouring the rest of the burger in a heartbeat. He slid into a nearby stool, untying his apron and tossing it on a rack. “That was fun,” he said, wiping a bead of sweat off his forehead and taking a piece of fish for himself.
“So, when’s this contest supposed to be?”

Dameon nodded, agreeing that it was fun as he ate his burger himself. It was really good.. that surprised him, considering that only one change had made the difference. He smiled though, glad that it worked. The elder Burgermon finished eating some of their creations before looking up at the two. "Well its been going on for a bit now.. today's the deadline. We have to introduce a brand new, delicious and unique burger in around an hour or so." He explained.. which meant Dameon and Sora's arrival was just on time.

“Coolio,” Sora said, grinning and shrugging off his jacket. It was starting to get pretty warm in the room, and he didn’t like the idea of cooking himself after all that hard work. “So, tell us more about this thing. Who exactly are you competing against?”

The Burgermon smiled, looking up at the two boys. "Other Burgermon of course.. they're new to the village though, and opened up a resturant further down in town. I think this started because ours was getting better business then theirs, so they decided on a competition. If they won, obviously people would be more drawn to their resturant then ours."
"Typical." Dameon said with a chuckle, sitting down on a chair nearby. "Figured it had something to do with a business rivalry."
