Name: Oliver Darnell
Nickname: Ollie
Age: 23
Birthday: May 19
Gender: Male
Family:
His parents still live in the United States, Texas specifically, where he was born and raised. He doesn’t go to see them often enough, what with his job keeping him busy, but he tries to give them a ring when the thought crosses his mind. He also has three younger brothers who help run the family ranch back home.
Appearance:
Personality:
Oliver Darnell has the urge for adventure seemingly engrained into his biology. From his childhood he wanted to do something spectacular with his life and that desire never really left him as adulthood set in. It’s this overriding urge that drove him from his family’s ranch to live the more exciting life of a bounty hunter. He’s not one for just living his life at a snail’s crawl without having any real impact on the world around him. However, this long-term detestation of lack of activity doesn’t apply to the short-term, as he quite enjoys cloud gazing and nature watching as a couple of his various hobbies. He just doesn’t want to look back on his life and see too many wasted years piling up behind him.
Despite his job and adventurous spark, giving the impression that he’d be some sort of a smooth operator, he has a reputation of playing the laid back fool. A little off the wall at times, he seems to have retained some of his childhood in his personality alongside his dream. He gets surprised easily, seems rather clumsy at times, often appearing a bit reckless, and always the first to laugh in any given situation. He loves jokes, either listening to them or telling them himself, and often falls back on this approach in frightening situations to embolden or when trying to cheer up someone who’s down. Despite these slightly clownish personal traits, he’s surprisingly sharp and precise when it really counts and has an extensive reservoir of bravery and courage to back up his many escapades and thirst for excitement.
One of his self-appointed defining characteristics is his belief that he is a lady’s man. He’ll set his eyes after just about anyone that appears attractive and is not above flirting with women who are a good number of years younger than him as long as they’re fully developed, earning him the descriptive term of pervert by some people who know of this character flaw. The truth is that, despite his attractiveness and apparent charm, he usually comes on a little strong. Until he meets the right girl for him, though, he’ll likely continue in this endeavor of trying to woo the girls he meets off of their feet.
Opinions:
Opinion of Battle: Oliver enjoys battling others, especially since he came to the digital world. However, despite his career path, he doesn’t like to hurt people in the fighting process. Because of this, he has never actually taken life, and has a spotless record of live captures. Battles between digimon excite him all the more and he enjoys standing beside his partner against an opponent. He can sometimes appear reckless, but he’s always calculating with a sharp mind and bringing strategy into his battles. In fact, his perceived foolishness is likely a strategy in itself, tricking the enemy into letting their guard down. He has an urge to win in a fight, but the safety of his friends always overrides that desire.
Opinion of Digimon: Originally freaked out in his first real meeting with digimon, Oliver has come to respect their strength and concept of morals, quickly changing his views of them until the point that he sees them little differently than being humans in strange shells. Now he treats them as he would someone from his world, based on their personality rather than their looks. He can befriend the good digimon with ease and has a loathing for any evil digimon that rivals the contempt he feels for the lowest of scum on the list of fugitives he’s apprehended in the human world.
Opinion of Self: Oliver is very comfortable with who he is and how he’s lived his life. His career as an international bounty hunter doesn’t go to his head, unless of course he’s trying to show off for the ladies. He doesn’t consider himself great or important, just a regular man living his dream in a world where so many fail to do so. He doesn’t doubt his ability to accomplish something, but at the same time he also doesn’t get overconfident. This casual acceptance of the truth that is his life gives him a serene aura that seems to relax those spending time in his company. If there was one thing he could consider himself lacking it would probably be a good woman at his side, but he believes that the right one is out there somewhere and it doesn’t get him down in the least that he hasn’t found her yet.
Strengths/Good Qualities: Oliver Darnel is a brave, trustworthy, and honorable person who’ll always do all that he can to help those in need, especially when they’re his friends. He’s far from helpless in a battle, knowing how to fight and use his lasso with great enough effectiveness to be one of the toughest natural humans around. His charming and serene attitude can put others at ease, calming their anxieties.
Weaknesses/Bad Qualities: He can be somewhat of a clown at times, goofing around or messing up when he really can’t afford to be doing such things. His flirtatious attitude can distract him even from a fight for a time. He has a moral standing against fighting women, though this seems to mostly be limited to human females and digimon with the relative figures of a human woman. In this case, he’ll often refuse to fight, though he doesn’t mind containing the enemy, as he’s had to do in the past as a bounty hunter when his targets were ever female.
Special Abilities:
Oliver Darnell is a star ace with the lasso, his lone tool for capturing fugitives. Not believing in carrying a firearm, he’s had to become more than exceptional with the one weapon he does carry to have not only survived but excelled in his career field. The rope is always looped at his hip under his coat for easy access.
Background:
Oliver Darnell was born in the states, on a little family-run ranch in rural Texas. His family had been passing that land down the family tree for generations and, as the firstborn son, it would eventually be handed over to him. He grew up with three younger brothers and a life of numerous repetitive daily chores. While he tried to be happy with what his life was like, he just couldn’t do it. He knew there had to be more excitement to life than a docile existence with his family, raising and caring for livestock as he helped keep his ancestors’ meager legacy alive.
During his younger years, he used to watch a lot of old western films. What really attracted his attention were the ones about bounty hunters, catching fugitives and bringing them in to face justice before the law. He was always excited when seeing these films, they were of great entertainment value for him, and they gave him a dream to shoot for that lay beyond the ranch he had been born on. He wanted to become a symbol of justice like the stars in those films, to live a life of endless adventure and excitement. While many children have similar imaginings when they’re young, most outgrow the thoughts for more realistic career goals in time, but not Oliver.
After learning about his future plans, his parents initially tried to discourage him, but after realizing how serious he was about feeding his urge for excitement and leaving the farm they could think of nothing else to do other than support him and so, while they were still questionable about the maturity of his decision, they wished him all the luck in the world. The ranch was passed on to the second oldest boy in the family and Oliver was free to live his life of adventure and serving justice.
Traveling internationally to track down his targets and find new work, Oliver became a successful bounty hunter, employing only an old lasso he learned to use back on the ranch. Morally against using a firearm to take in fugitives, by this he maintained a spotless record of live captures during his various employments. Despite his successes, people often don’t take him seriously as a success story. Perhaps because he acts a little too foolishly, or doesn’t have that hardened attitude one might expect from the old-fashioned bounty hunter. Either way, it’s evident that his fame doesn’t precede him, though it doesn’t stop him from bragging about it now and again to the ladies.
Despite his successes, he rarely maintains enough money to get by, often using all of it to pay back debts or travel expenses, food and temporary shelter. He never seems to mind about his lack of financial backing, though, always enjoying the journey over the profit. However, even with all of his travels and adventures, the excitement of his job and the benefits of entrepreneurship time flux, something still seems to be missing in his life, some calling that he hasn’t explored yet, some adventure that he hasn’t partaken. Little did he know that that void would quickly be filled upon his desiring of it by the most bizarre and amazing journey of his life.

- Tanemon (In-Training)
- Palmon (Rookie)
- Togemon (Champion)
- Lillymon (Ultimate)
- Rosemon (Mega)
- Rosemon Burst Mode (Burst)
Appearance:
Personality:
Palmon is the tomboyish type of digimon kind, never one to frown at having to get down and dirty to accomplish what needs to be done. She doesn’t want to be treated as some frail thing that needs to be protected and has beaten up a number of other digimon who openly thought little of her. She wants to be respected for what she can accomplish with her own abilities. Because of this, she often has difficulty working with others, sometimes thinking that their help is another way of saying that she can’t do it alone.
Despite this seemingly hostile nature of hers, she can be quite friendly with those that she grows to know well, obtaining a rather casual personality capable of joking around and boasting without feeling compelled to prove herself at every turn. She can be brave and trustworthy, worrying about more than just if she’s good enough, able to show concern for her companions’ wellbeing. She now can fight for more than just herself, she can fight for them.
Opinions:
Opinion of Battle: Battles are a very integral part of the picture Palmon sees when imagining herself. Since she was young, she always had to prove herself in fights, beating up people who tried to make fun of her or believe she wasn’t capable enough. It was a central aspect of her life that she came to enjoy, especially when it was challenging because when she won she felt a real sense of accomplishment. Now she fights both for fun and to protect her friends if need be. She can be a warrior for more than just her honor, using her strength that she fought so hard to prove to others in bigger causes that she feels like defending and fighting for.
Opinion of Humans: She doesn’t know what to think of humans, her first contact with the species having been with Oliver Darnell, her new partner. Initially seeing him as ridiculous and reckless, as well as a womanizing pervert after finding out about his skirt chasing interests, she quickly came to know the real Oliver and, though she still gives him a hard time outwardly, on the inside she’s beginning to develop a deep respect for him and his bizarre ways. Through this change of opinion about the first human she met, so did her thoughts about the race as a whole. Originally thinking them a strange people, she now believes there has to be something special about their inner strength and character if they can produce someone like her partner.
Opinion of Self: All of her fights and battles from her youth onward have been both to prove her strength to both others and herself. Inwardly, she’s a little unconfident about her abilities, feeling she can only fix such feelings by acting otherwise in as bold a fashion as possible. In truth, she doesn’t know if she’s as strong as she tries to make other people believe. Since meeting Oliver, her confidence has begun to improve thanks to being in the presence of his casual, serene personality that seems to put everyone at peace over time.
Abilities:
Offense: Palmon’s attacks are quick and still pack a decent punch. Her offensive ability, Poison Ivy, has some considerable reach to it, allowing her to fight others at both close and midrange combat. Out of a scaling system of one to ten, she would be around a six.
Defense: Palmon’s endurance is generously above average for her evolutionary tier. Stubborn and determined to win since her first fights, she refuses to stay down until she really can’t get back on her feet. On a scaling system of one to ten, she’d be approximately a seven.
Speed: Palmon is surprisingly fast for a plant-type digimon, able to dodge and avoid attacks more flexibly than most. Utilizing her Poison Ivy attack in a supplementary fashion, she can reach out with her extendable claw-vines and pull herself out of harm’s way even faster. On her own power, she’s around a seven on the one to ten scale. While utilizing the Poison Ivy ability, she’s at least an eight.
Intellect/Wit: This is where Palmon really seems to shine, capable of planning and strategy with great effectiveness. She often has to be the brains in her partnership with Oliver, since he never seems to want to show his strategic mind unless it’s necessary. Able to come up with plan on the fly, alone or with the help of her partner, she’s just about a nine on the one to ten scale of her respective rookie tier.
Recuperation: The second category in which she seems to excel is recovering after a battle, always ready to pound the lights out of some jerk after just finishing a fight with someone else. With her plant-based body, she has faster cell-repair to heal wounds and an increase to recovering stamina thanks to the energy she can create and store from photosynthesis alone. On a scale of one to ten, this would also hit at around a nine.
Background:
Palmon was raised feeling she had to prove herself to the other digimon children around her. Any question of her ability was an insult to her strength and she got into a lot of fights with would-be teasers trying to pick on her, always coming out on top. She was a real tomboy as far as digimon go, very competitive and short-tempered, not taking abuse from anyone and always putting bullies in their place. Inwardly, she fought as much to prove her own strength to herself than to defend her honor and integrity. She would sometimes find herself scared over whether she really was strong, or just putting up a brave front.
Meeting Oliver during a dare has begun to change her life. Initially, Palmon was skeptical of the clownish, easygoing, strange human that she stumbled upon, but overtime his bizarre aura of calm and serenity has worked wonders in healing her troubled soul. Fighting along side him has taught her to fight for what she believes in, rather than over other peoples’ opinions of her. Her first true friend, though she’ll never admit it openly, Oliver has had a positive influence on her life that was desperately needed. She repays him in her own way by sticking by him as his partner no matter what the perils may be in their path.
Becoming stronger than ever before, Palmon still doesn’t take ill-treatment and cruelty lying down, but no longer because she cares what the source of that antagonism thinks of her. Rather she detests the bullies of the world in general and fights for her own convictions over this matter. She fights for friends and the poorly treated, becoming brave and courageous in her travels and obtaining a strong sense of justice from her partner.
